The Salt Song Film
Swimming through memories captured in film.
Salt Song explores how we remember, evoking memories of the sea.
This film by Andy Wood draws on the lyrical and powerful live performance presented to critical acclaim in Leeds in 2013. It features original poetic narrative by award-winning poet, Rommi Smith and an original score by Dave Kane played by an ensemble including award winning pianist Matthew Bourne and the internationally acclaimed vocal trio Royst.
The film is available for showings at venues, galleries and festivals and can be shown as a traditional screening or as an installation. Festival-goers in 2014 bathed their senses in salt, sea and sand during screenings at Coastival in Scarborough and the land-locked Hebden Bridge Arts Festival and Beacons Festival.
We’d love to transport the seaside to your location. Contact us if you’d like to talk to us about how we could do that.
