Stage a Salt Song Performance

Swimming through memories in film and performances.

Salt Song combines film, music and poetry to trigger the senses, evoking memories of the sea, and the sea shore. It was premiered with two live performances made for Hyde Park Picture House in Leeds in September 2013, presented by Imove in association with FuseBox. We brought the seaside into the heart of a city community, with fish & chips, sand and saltiness.

We’d love to transport the seaside to your venue or festival.  Contact us if you’d like to talk to us about how we could do that.

The performance features original poetic narrative written and performed by award-winning poet, former Parliamentary Writer in Residence and Keats House Poet-in-Residence, Rommi Smith.

An original score composed by Dave Kane to interact with and compliment the performance and film, will be played live by The Salt Song Band, an ensemble of some of the best musicians from the British Jazz scene, including award winning pianist Matthew Bourne and the internationally acclaimed vocal trio Royst.
