Children and artists in the East Riding explored flight in all its forms but particularly through the colonies of birds on the region’s coasts and the life of Yorkshire aviator Amy Johnson.
A series of flying events, workshops, exhibitions, publications and recordings culminated in two new chamber operas by writer Adam Strickson, Flight Paths with Stephen Kilpatrick and Amy’s Last Dive with Cheryl Frances-Hoad.

“Funny, sad, exciting and interesting.’

Thank you very much for the dancing. I really enjoyed it … I have never danced outside before… Dancing with like minded people and feeling that anything was acceptable in a public space was also a new one for me. The idea of finding rhythm for movement in static objects and through the rhythm of my own breath as opposed to music will stay with me. Thank you again for a lovely day.”
