    breath[e]:LESS Tour – Book it!

    | Posted by Elenid Davies

Breath[e]:LESS is now available to book for arts centres, music venues, clubs and festivals.

This new show is a visceral journey through some uncertainties of our time. It is a live mix of three writer/performers and a DJ/ electronic music producer. It has humour and darkness. It’s best placed where audiences can feel comfortable standing, sitting or, if they want, dancing.

The performance element is about 60 minutes – but the music can go on longer. It needs a good sound & lighting system and imaginative venue partners who can work with us to connect with a range of audiences.

    Haunt Anthology: Call for Submissions

    | Posted by Elenid Davies

Haunt is looking for submissions for the Haunt anthology from people who have experienced homelessness or vulnerable housing in Harrogate.

This might be living in one of the many bedsits throughout town, or couch-surfing to keep a roof over your head.

It can be a story directly about your experiences, or something more fictionalised. We’ve had poems, short stories, monologues and rants.

All appropriate submissions will be put on the website and some pieces will be selected for the anthology.

The closing date 20th April. For more information, click here.

A Grand Day Out in London

    | Posted by Elenid Davies

The Grand Departs’ PianoPorte took centre stage at the London Lord Mayor’s Show on Saturday 8 November  as Welcome to Yorkshire celebrated a triumphant year of cycling for the county.

Gary Verity, chief executive of Welcome to Yorkshire, said:
“It was great to see The Grand Departs in action again, and this time right in the heart of London. The eighteen cyclists did a brilliant job of pedalling the piano through London’s streets, and the crowd were treated to a unique spectacle, that’s for sure.”

The Show was seen by three million people on the BBC and over 500,000 people who lined the City streets to witness the 800 year-old parade. Check out the photos here.

Salt Song Film to premiere in Scarborough, February 2014

    | Posted by Elenid Davies Salt Song image by Andy Wood

Imove is delighted to announce that a film representation of our acclaimed work, Salt Song, will premiere at this year’s Coastival.

Andy’s film gives new life to Salt Song, using material created for our sell-out live performances at Hyde Park Picture House, Leeds. Using his own film footage created for the project, and selections of Dave Kane’s composition, Rommi Smith’s words and recordings from the Salt Song band and artists, Andy’s film shows Salt Song through a different prism.

You can see it at The Spa in Scarborough between 14-16 February as part of this year’s Coastival programme.
